About Us

One of San Antonio’s Newest Wedding Destinations

El Bosque Venue is a charmingly rustic outdoor venue designed for the bride who wants to keep things simple—and simply elegant! Tucked away off South Loop 1604, this little slice of paradise encompasses more than five acres that include open fields, majestic trees, and a peaceful pond. Rather than compete with the natural beauty,

El Bosque owners Lucy and Peter Freddie took inspiration from it, creating a minimalist look and feel throughout the property from the wooden floors to the decomposed granite pathways.

“It has a boho vibe,” describes Lucy of the quaint, budget-friendly venue that can accommodate up to approximately 150 people.

Getting Back to Nature

Although it’s just outside of the city, El Bosque Venue feels like it’s worlds away. No hustle and bustle of traffic or outside noise. Just the calm serenity that comes from getting back to nature. The experience begins the moment you enter the gate and follow the picturesque drive that leads to the open-air buildings.

There you will find the chapel with its wooden pews handcrafted by Peter, who also made the family-style tables and bench seating used in the reception area. For the bride and groom, two free-standing 12×24 air-conditioned suites on the property offer a private place to relax and get ready for the ceremony.

Our Style

When it comes to decor, it’s hard to compete with Mother Nature, but El Bosque Venue offers packages that include florals, fabric draping, table linens, and other enhancements. Candlelight, string lights, and of course starlight, are incorporated to create a romantic glow as night falls, while chimineas ward off any chill in the air.

Brides can bring in additional decor, hire their own vendors, or take advantage of El Bosque Venue’s wedding planner to create those memorable, magical moments that will last a lifetime.
